Safer Bleach Alternatives

In this period we keep our house cleaner, disinfected and we wash our laundry more often.

❌"Conventional Chlorine Bleach" is a disinfectant that’s been around for almost a hundred years, but that aside there are lots of problems with using bleach. First, it’s not an effective cleaner, so you’ll need to use something else to perform that task. It also comes with very slow contact times (the amount of time a surface must stay wet to kill germs). Finally, it is irritating to the skin, eyes and breathing it in all day long isn’t great for your lungs.

❌ BLEACH AND QUAT-BASED DISINFECTANTS Sodium hypochlorite – found in chlorine bleach – and quaternary ammonium compounds, also called quats are linked to respiratory harm and other serious health effects.

DO NOT MIX any laundry products with Chlorine, Ammonia, or any other toxic chemicals.

✅ Hydrogen peroxide is a great disinfectant and a great alternative to traditional bleach or alcohol.

I keep it in a spray bottle and spray it on many surfaces including the kitchen counter, handles, doorknobs, bathroom, and cell phones.

  • No “bleachy” smell, the color-safe formula can be added to every laundry load as a chlorine bleach alternative
