Coronavirus  Non-toxic disinfectant

Many disinfectants are polluting and toxic: According to CNN: As COVID-19 cleaning increased in the US, so did poisonings with cleaners and disinfectants.

Clean and disinfect:

  • CDC-recommends: Clean AND disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily: tables, doorknobs, light switches, countertops, handles, desks, phones, keyboards, toilets, faucets, and sinks.

  • Cleaning refers to the removal of germs, dirt, and impurities from surfaces. It does not kill germs, but by removing them, it lowers their numbers and the risk of spreading infection.

  • Disinfecting refers to using chemicals, for example, EPA-registered disinfectants, to kill germs on surfaces. This process does not necessarily clean dirty surfaces or remove germs, but by killing germs on a surface after cleaning, it can further lower the risk of spreading infection.

  • Recommend use of EPA-registered household disinfectant.

    • Keeping surface wet for a period of time (see product label)

    • Precautions such as wearing gloves and making sure you have good ventilation during use of the product.

    • Alcohol solutions with at least 70% alcohol.

    • Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for application and proper ventilation. Never mix household bleach with ammonia or any other cleanser.

    • Follow the instructions on the label to ensure the safe and effective use of the product, including surface wipes, SHOULD NOT be applied on your skin or ingested

For electronics, such as tablets, touch screens, keyboards, and remote controls.

  • Consider putting a wipeable cover on electronics

  • Follow manufacturer’s instruction for cleaning and disinfecting

  • If no guidance, use alcohol-based wipes or sprays containing at least 70% alcohol. Dry surface thoroughly.

Baking Soda NON GMOs Verified

In this period we keep our house cleaner and wash our laundry more often.

  • I pay extra attention to produce as well. I started to rinse my veggie and fruits that are eaten raw with baking soda. I prefer baking soda instead of vinegar since baking soda is more alkaline and vinegar is acid in the stomach.

  • I rinse apple, then I immerse it in a container with 3 glasses of water and 1 teaspoon of baking soda. After 10 minutes I rinse the apple with filtered water. Then It is ready. This practice is to remove also pesticides.
