🍃 Made from corn starch, which allows it to be compostable and biodegradable 100%. PLA (polylactic acid) is typically made from the sugars in corn starch (as is the case with Bonnie Bio's certified compostable & biodegradable plastic alternatives range), cassava or sugarcane. It is biodegradable, carbon-neutral, and edible.
🍃 To transform corn into plastic, corn kernels are immersed in sulfur dioxide and hot water, where its components break down into starch, protein, and fiber.
When it breaks due to the exposure of oxygen, heat, UV Light & microbial activities, this biodegradable bag will decompose creating eco-friendly byproducts such as carbon dioxide, biomass, and water.

It is biodegraded as evidenced by the team’s own backyard compost tests. They do suggest that you pull my layers apart before composting to speed things up.
