Organic Cleaning Wipes

Many of us do not realize how toxic our daily household cleaning products can be! Including cleaning wipes.

90% of wet wipes contain plastic and many have toxic ingredients. Wet wipes create billions of pounds of plastic waste each year.

They contain chemicals, irritants, and pollutants that affect not only sensitive individuals, pregnant women, the elderly, pets, children, and wildlife, but all of us, too! Yet, they are sold in regular grocery stores as harmless products.

Conventional Cleaning Wipes

Conventional cleaning wipes contain toxic ingredients and chemicals that are cheap to produce, and harsh on us, the planet, and the environment. They are linked with asthma and respiratory damage, skin allergies and irritations, development, and reproductive toxicity, posing cancer, and environmental hazards.

Microplastics: 90% of wipes contain microplastics. Conventional wipes never break down, polluting landfills, oceans.

Toxic Chemicals: linked to skin irritation, asthma, and long-term health risks.

Greenwashing Cleaning Wipes

Avoid Greenwashing cleaning wipes  made by brands that pretend to be safer, better, and more natural when they are not. They will use their marketing trick to convince you to buy their products

Many “natural wipes” contain controversial ingredients mixed in their almost natural formula such as preservatives, dyes, fragrances, surfactants, bleach, alcohol, quats, hydrogen peroxide, or any other harmful chemicals.  Avoid ethoxylated/petrochemical surfactants

  • ❌ Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate: synthetic anionic surfactant; irritating at higher concentrations, especially to sensitive skin.
  • ❌ Ammonium C6-10-alkyl Polyoxyethylene Sulfate: ethoxylated sulfate surfactant; classified as causing skin and serious eye irritation in pure form, though EPA’s Safer Choice program lists this class as “low concern” when used as intended.
  • ❌ C12-15 Alcohols Ethoxylated: nonionic ethoxylated surfactant; the substance itself is classified as harmful if swallowed and irritating to skin/eyes in concentrate.
  •  Methylisothiazolinone:  preservative skin sensitizer, linked to allergies, lung, neurological, and organ toxicity. Plus it is very toxic to aquatic life. Found in BetterLife Brand! Check at the bottom of the page the greenwashing brands.
