Organic Feminine Wash

I recommend using a good and safer feminine wash daily for anybody, especially during your period

I know that many doctors and experts told us to use JUST water, and that is because the large majority of feminine washes on the market are highly toxic and made, full of cheap chemicals, fragrances, harsh preservatives, and skin irritants!!

Conventional Feminine Washes

Avoid any other feminine washes not listed on this page since I checked all over and I found the best and safest organic family washes on the market!

They contain toxic, synthetic, petroleum-derived ingredients such as

  • Sodium Laureth Sulfate
  • PEG-120
  • ❌ Disodium EDTA
  • ❌ Polyquaternium-7

Greenwashing Feminine Washes

Avoid greenwashing feminine washes made by brands that pretend to be organic, natural, and safer when they are not. They still use synthetic or controversial ingredients.

❌ Sodium Benzoatepreservative (Bio-accumulative and cancer-causing food preservative)
Sodium benzoate: benzoic acid and vitamin C mix can cause cancer. Capable of causing contact urticaria

❌ Potassium Sorbatepreservative,  Human skin toxicant, or allergen – strong evidence.
Causes serious eye irritation

❌ Cocamidopropyl Betaine: a compound with some toxic and allergenic concerns. It was named  “Allergen of the Year” by the American Contact Dermatitis Society in 2004. It may cause skin irritation or allergic reactions in sensitive individuals.

❌ Ethylhexylglycerin: Classified as an irritant, this substance causes serious eye damage. Severe eye damage was observed in animal testing. Liver effects observed at low doses in repeat-dose studies in rats. This substance is harmful to aquatic life with long-lasting effects.

Ethylhexylglycerin: highly relevant, sensitizer in ‘hypo-allergenic’ cosmetics. To report on 13 patients who presented with allergic contact dermatitis caused by ethylhexylglycerin.

❌ Phenoxyethanol: preservative classified as an irritant, toxic, and harmful. Can have adverse effects on the central and peripheral nervous systems, linked to allergic contact uritica and dermatitis. Made by the reaction of corrosive phenol with carcinogen ethylene oxide. Exposure to phenoxyethanol has been linked to reactions ranging from eczema[2] to severe, life-threatening allergic reactions.[3] Infant oral exposure to phenoxyethanol can acutely affect nervous system function.[4]

Organic Feminine Washes

🌸 We need to take care of our vulva and vagina like our face, using organic cleaning, hydrating, and moisturizing, pH-balancing products for this sensitive, delicate and temperamental area of our body. I have very sensitive skin, and it is very important that I use the most delicate and safest products on the market! We need to use not a wash, even if it is organic, we need to use a wash designed for the delicate microbalance and specify the pH of our body part.

pH-formulated intimate washes

👉I always recommend using pH-formulated products for your intimate care. There is a need for it. Doesn’t matter if you are using a natural organic body wash; if it is not pH friendly, it can create irritations and won’t create a healthy protective barrier. It is important to use an organic feminine wash designed for the specific pH area. The vagina should have a pH of 4.5 or less to keep it acidic – too much alkalinity leads to excess bacteria.

Some use organic body washes instead of feminine wash because they think it should be fine since it is natural. Even if your body wash is natural, it could create irritation on the vulva and vagina since they have a higher pH, not designed to protect the delicate skin barrier of the feminine intimate area.

Dr Bronner’s body wash, for example, is organic, and some lines are even USDA-certified organic, but their pH is very high, like 8-1,0, when we need 4-5 on our feminine parts. This creates imbalance, irritation, and removes the healthy protective skin acidity that creates a barrier for infection. So if you are dealing with Candida, check your products.

Bidets to clean intimate parts

I also highly recommend integrating a bidet into your daily routine. Just “water” to wash your intimate parts is not enough, especially when we use the bathroom and when we have our period

I am Italian and I grew up with a bidet, and I recommend it to anybody. If you have never tried it before, now is the time!

Using a bidet, a not only it is a better, safer, more practical, clean, and healthier way to keep your body hygienically clean, but it is also a way more eco-friendly method for your daily routine, which allows you to save on toilet paper as well. Using a bidet means washing my body parts with warm water and organic feminine wash daily, and even a few times a day!

I couldn’t even imagine going without water and soap and just using paper or wipes!  It won’t ever feel clean, if you try a bidet, you know what I mean, and you will never go back! I promise you!

Organic Feminine Wipes

Avoid conventional feminine wipes; these wipes are not recommended daily since the majority are very toxic, irritant, and polluting since they don’t biodegrade. Pick only safer and approved organic feminine wipes. I recommend bringing with you when you travel, to a public bathroom, airplane, to the gym, and any time you need to refresh there! I even use it to refresh my hands when on to go!

Organic Toilet Paper

Avoid conventional toilet paper brands since they can create skin rashes. They are full of toxic ingredients, chlorine, and irritants, and are made by cutting trees and packed in plastic! Pick only safer and approved organic toilet tree-free paper brands made with certified organic bamboo, a much better and planet-friendly source, no chlorine, with unbleached options and plastic-free packaging!

That’s why I only use and recommend feminine washes and products designed to respect that specific area and maintain the ideal pH for healthier skin! I recommend you use your feminine wash with a bidet, in the shower, and bring it to the gym and when traveling in a travel-size container!
