Men Deodorant

🌸 Are you looking for a safer deodorant, made without aluminum, parabens, BHT, talc, triclosan, silica, propylene glycol, stearates, and fragrance? (If your current deodorant contains any of these toxic ingredients listed above, it is time to replace it with a safer one!) 🎉

Conventional Deodorants

We know that in addition to being toxic, aluminum also interferes with the body’s natural and necessary process for overall health – sweating! Since we are all demanding more natural deodorants, many brands have come out with “aluminum-free deodorant” alternatives, but this is not enough.  Diisopropyl adipate, Dimethicone, Heptyl Undecylenate, Triethyl Citrate, BHT, talc, triclosan, silica, and stearates, to name a few more.

  • ❌ Aluminum – Linked to Alzheimer’s disease and heavy metal toxicity

  • ❌ Parabens – Endocrine/hormone disruptors, found in 99% of breast cancer tissue sampled study

  • ❌ Propylene glycol – Classified as a skin irritant by the EWG

  • ❌ Phthalates – Endocrine disruptors linked to permanent birth defects

  • ❌ Triclosan – Linked to liver toxicity and thyroid dysfunction

  • ❌ Formaldehyde – contaminated synthetics – carcinogenic

  • ❌ BHT

  • ❌ Talc

  • ❌ Silica

  • ❌ Stearates

  • ❌ Fragrance: A Cocktail of chemicals creating skin sensitivities and irritations. Learn more here

Greenwashing Deodorants

Avoid greenwashing deodorant made by companies started by venture capitalists and then sold their brand to greedy multinational corporations. Greenwashing is when a brand pretends to be organic, eco-friendly, natural, or safe when it is not. They use misleading greenwashing techniques, tactics, and claims to convince you to buy their products!

These companies focus more on profits, cutting quality and costs, and spending on marketing. Reducing the original formula and quality. Claiming to be natural is not enough for a safe deodorant! We need to check the rest of the ingredients of a “natural” deodorant.  They may still sell us synthetic ingredients in their aluminum-free deodorants to help give the smooth, blended texture you’re accustomed to with conventional deodorants. Those controversial active ingredients are:

Organic Deodorants

Pick only Organic and natural deodorants made with safer active ingredients. Even better when they are USDA Certified Organic and even better in plastic-free packaging to avoid any plastic contamination or pollution.

  • ✅ Magnesium Sulfate: recognized as a safe ingredient by EWG

  • ✅ Magnesium Chloride: recognized as a safe ingredient by EWG

  • ✅ Tapioca Starch: is an approved food-grade ingredient. Since you can eat it, it is safe to put it on your skin.

  • ✅ Arrowroot Powder: is another food-grade ingredient. If it is organic, it is even better since it means no pesticides or GMOs.

  • ✅ Sodium Bicarbonate (Baking Soda): approved ingredient since it is food-grade. Baking soda has a very alkaline (or basic) pH of 9.

  • ✅ Cornstarch: approved food-grade ingredient. If it is organic, it is even better since it means no pesticides or GMOs.

NOTE: When you are transitioning from chemical antiperspirant to natural deodorant, you may need Eartley’s detoxifying Pit Mask to help you accelerate the detoxification process. You can find it on this page below.

Natural Deodorant Detox Guide

Switching from an antiperspirant to a deodorant can cause your body to detox for a couple of weeks. You may smell worse than usual for the first week or two, but rest assured, you will be smelling fresh as your body adjusts to the change. Sweat is good!

Week 1: Your body will start to adjust.

Week 2: Your body starts to sweat more. Your underarms start to purge the toxins. A substantial increase in the growth of odor-causing bacteria in the dears area. You may also feel additional moisture because your body is sweating, which is the body’s natural way to flush out toxins.

Week 3: You will sweat more and smell less as your body continues to adjust and detox. Week 4+: Your body should have fully adjusted to natural deodorant. It can take up to 30 days for your body to regulate itself, though for some people the detox stage is shorter. You can now continue using natural deodorant every day to neutralize the smell of daily body odor and not the chemical reaction from toxins from conventional deodorant.

NOTE: To accelerate the detoxifying process, you can use the detoxing pit mask listed below.

You will feel and smell amazing!
