Whenever I travel, I always look for organic restaurants and places where I can find organic food! I investigate them!
Here you will find the list of the most eco-friendly and sustainable hotels in the world. A list of the best hotels whose mission is to improve sustainability in the hospitality industry and create the best eco-experiences compared to the other hotels. These hotels use a range of green business practices including reduced water consumption, increased water & energy efficiency, solar panels, LED lighting, organic food, and more.
❌ Avoid conventional hotels. They are just keeping polluting, using unnecessary resources, and serving you conventional, cheaply made products. Such as toxic mattresses, GMOs food, and toxic personal care products.
❌ Avoid greenwashing hotels that pretend to be sustainable, or eco-friendly when they are not. they may claim to support and embrace planet-friendly initiatives when they are not third-party certified.
1 Hotel Review: I booked the 1 Hotel in Kauai, Hawaii because I wanted a more sustainable and healthier environment. I visited after the big wildfire in Los Angeles in 2025, during the winter season. They also promised to use produce from an organic local garden to supply their restaurant. I investigated their breakfast, and I was shocked — the quality was completely conventional. Their eggs came in liquid form from the mainland USA, even though Hawaii has plenty of local eggs and chickens. The same went for their juices. I was so excited to try fresh, local guava juice, but instead, they served bottled juice that wasn’t even local or organic. I felt this was a clear case of greenwashing — a way to take our money while pretending to be sustainable. I tried to share my feedback with the managers, but I won’t be supporting their business again until they truly deliver what they promise: a better, more sustainable, and genuinely organic environment. Their locations is gorgeous, just eat outside the property.

Their wooden boards in the bathroom was smelling with petroleum based mineral oil, I had to put it outside the room. Their skincare too could have been better. They just need to spend more money to offer us what it is expected by a sustainable hotel. Because we are paying for that!!

Their location is absolutely gorgeous — just eat outside the property. And let’s all keep demanding real organic food so they finally listen! Also, tell them we don’t want synthetic fragrances in our environment. They sell fragranced candles, and at their West Hollywood location, I actually had to request a refund because I couldn’t stay in the room — it was filled with their toxic scent, and there was no way to remove it!
