Organic Protein

Here you will find my favorite food products and a description of some food ingredients we need to avoid.

I'll teach you which ingredients to avoid even on organic food! They can have ingredients that are not considered healthy, or they are not environmentally sustainable and we need to spot them so we can choose a brand that doesn't use them. Here you can find the healthiest options!

Applegate USDA Certified Organic Turkey Balls

Canola oil is everywhere and in many packaged food.

πŸƒ That's why I read carefully food packaging labels to be sure that canola oil is not in them. We won't keep it out of our body why?

It is highly processed, unhealthy, cheap, and inflammatory oil. read more in the next post below.

πŸƒ  The other ingredient I strictly avoid is citric acid, why?

Because it derives from a mold, once it used to be extracted from citric fruits but it has been cheaply replaced with a lab mold.

and if you have acid-reflux or GERD, stay away from it!

πŸƒ  Also, I avoid natural flavors: a mysterious combination of ingredients that is not disclosed by the company and we want to know what we are eating right?

πŸƒ  So here is my new discovery delicious turkey meatballs high in protein made with clean ingredients.

INGREDIENTS: organic turkey, organic lentils, organic feta cheese, organic olive oil, organic dill, and sea salt. You can get it online.

  • USDA Certified Organic

  • No Antibiotics or Added Hormones

  • No Chemical Nitrites or Nitrates

USDA Certified Organic Turkey Breast

Even organic turkey brands can contain unnecessary ingredients such as natural flavors, sugar.

Look at labels that have fewer ingredients possible like these.

From Organic Valley:

INGREDIENTS: organic turkey breast, water, sea salt

Diestel:

INGREDIENTS: only organic turkey breast.

I prefer the Organic Valley Turkey for its flavor.

Safe Catch Healthiest  Tuna

πŸ’   I stopped having tuna for years for the high mercury level in it, I prefer to eat wild salmon since it is considered safer! After watching a "Shark Tank" episode, I found this tuna!

πŸŽ‰ This tuna is tested to a mercury limit of 0.100 ppm, which is 22 times stricter than the FDA limit

πŸ’¦ This makes this wild tuna as pure as wild salmon!

Also, this tuna retains omega 3s more than conventional tuna, it is hand-cut, BPA- free can, certified kosher, non-GMOs, no additives or fillers, dolphin-safe🐬

(no delphin gets hurt).

It is the safest on the market and it tastes great!

I only buy this one! Safecatchfoods safe for kids, pregnancy.

  • Mercury Tested – their purest tuna!

  • Artisan Cook Process – Amazing taste!

  • No Additives or Fillers – Just pure tuna!

  • Sustainably Caught!

After having any fish, I still recommend taking Nac Supplement as chelation and detoxification of heavy metals.

BPA free food

Tips to avoid BPA #1 πŸ…πŸŠπŸπŸ‘πŸˆπŸ΅
Do you know that canned foods have Bisphenol-A (BPA), a synthetic estrogen? It can leach from the lining into your food. Before you buy soups, beans, pasta, coconut milk, vegetables, and fruits, look for:
•BPA free lining container
•Glass container •Carton container
Be sure that is certified organic! πŸ˜‰

Organic Pasture-Raised Eggs
USDA Certified Organic eggs, pasture-raised, vital farme, best, protein, chickens,

🍳 Breakfast anyone? These are my favorite eggs!

The best eggs you can get the need  to have 2 requirements:

1. They need to display the USDA Certified Organic seal,  which means the chickens didn't eat any GMO corn or other pesticide food.

2. They need to be Certified Pasture-Raised. Look for the HFAC Humane Farm Animal Care seal!

Like these ones, they are not only USDA organic but also Pasture-Raised and Humane Farm Animal Care (HFAC) Certified!

There is a difference between pasture-raised and free-range.

"Cage-free"  eggs have been a major cause of debate in the US.

In the United States, free-range regulations do not necessarily require that hens spend substantial time outdoors, only that the hens "have access to the outdoors"

HFAC requirements for:

"free-range" is that birds need to be at least 6 hours per day outdoors.

"pastured-raised" birds must be outdoors year-round.

According to the HFAC, this company is on the pastured-raised program.

Vitamin D in eggs has been observed to increase up to 4 times in hens that have exposure to sunlight, compared to hens that are kept away from sunlight.

  • USDA  Certified Organic

  • GMOs -free

  • Pastured raised Certified

The best eggs come from the healthiest hens!

USDA Certified organic jam, strawberries, pink, rose, no citric acid, gerd, acid reflux. pretty organic girl.
USDA Certified Organic Jam Citric Acid-Free

πŸ“πŸ˜‹My favorite organic jam! It has the cleanest ingredients I found! It is made with just 3 ingredients: organic strawberries, organic apple juice, and pectin, that's all!

No sugar added and no citric acid (once made from Italian citrus fruits, now derived from a type of mold)!

Citric acid is always to avoid if you have acid reflux

Pectin instead, is extracted from fruits and it has been observed to have DNA repair properties!

πŸ“This jam is made with organic strawberries and wild strawberries, naturally sweetened with organic apple juice! It tastes sooo good!

πŸƒ Made in Italy in organic farms it comes in different flavors strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, apricot, orange, lemon, peach! They are all delicious! πŸ˜‹πŸŽπŸŠπŸ“ USDA certified organic, gluten free.

🍏 Thrive Market apple sauce is the purest apple sauce I have found. It has only one ingredient: organic apples! Made with USA apples πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ
🌿 It is made without all the added ingredients usually found in apple sauce, such as ascorbic acid, added sweeteners, and citric acid (once derived from Italian citrus fruit, now derived from a type of mold).

Organic Olive Oil Sachets On the Go
Canola oil, extra virgin olive oil, 100% organic, italian, USDA

Canola oil is everywhere and almost in every restaurant. πŸƒThat's why I bring with me these little handy olive oil packs, and I generally ask the chef to use only this USDA Certified Organic cold-pressed oil for my dishes. Easy to carry along with you. 🍽They allow me to have dinner out, but without loading my body with unhealthy and inflammatory canola oil or other cheap oils that restaurants seem to carry. Why? They can be used with higher heat and are cheaper for the restaurant to buy, but they are highly processed.
β€‹β€‹πŸ”¬According to Food Babe “Canola oil is extracted from rapeseed plants, that have been bred to have lower levels of toxic erucic acid... In 1995 they also began genetically engineering (GMO) rapeseed to be resistant to herbicides, and now almost all canola crops in North America are GMO...Canola oil consumption has been linked to vitamin E deficiency and a shortened life span in animal studies.”
β€‹β€‹πŸ”¬According to the Weston A. Price Foundation:
“Like all modern vegetable oils, canola oil goes through the process of caustic refining, bleaching, and degumming–all of which involve high temperatures or chemicals of questionable safety."
β€‹β€‹πŸ”¬According to Food Babe: Most cooking oils go through an insane amount of processing with chemical solvents...the “solvent” that is most often used to extract the oil is the neurotoxin hexane ...Hexane is a cheap byproduct from gasoline production, that’s a serious occupational hazard and toxic air pollutant. It’s been shown that some hexane residue can remain in the oil, and the FDA doesn’t require food manufacturers to test for residues.
Convinced? My suggestion is to eat at home as much as you can and bring these organic olive oil packs with you!

Oils like soybeans, corn, safflower, sunflower and canola, sustain oxidative damage during their high-temperature processing, and are vulnerable to damage from heat, light, and oxygen! β€‹πŸ™ˆConventional Canola Oil is often found in many food products and according to THE FOOD BABE, it is a cheap, unhealthy, GMO oil! It is extracted from rapeseed plant using a solvent called hexane and it is highly processed!πŸ™Š Canola has become one of the most genetically modified crop! Also canola oil is a goitrogen: it interferes with the thyroid gland. According to Dr. Cate (nutrition director for the Los Angeles Lakers), “consuming vegetable oils is like eating radiation” β€‹πŸ™ˆMany restaurants, even the hormone and antibiotics-free restaurants, still use canola oil and other unhealthy refined oils. This is a reason why I prefer to skip eating out! Next time you eat at the restaurant ask which oils they use. It is our right to know what we eat! I try to educate restaurant managers as much as I can!

πŸƒYou can also consider taking your own salad dressing into the restaurant (it is allowed)! Better choices are extra olive oil, coconut oil and avocado oil. I prefer to avoid canola oil and other high refined oils and for this reason I use this delicious 100% Pure Avocado Oil, Cold Pressed From The Fruit of Premium, Sunkissed California Avocados! β˜€οΈ β€‹πŸ’š For high heat Primal Kitchen Avocado Oil made with the good fats and with very high smoke point of 400 degrees Fahrenheit! This avocado oil is Paleo approved, Vegan, Gluten-free, cholesterol-free and ketogenic-diet friendly. It is perfect sautéing, baking, stir-frying, roasting and for salads! I hope more restaurants start to offer us soon better and higher quality cooking oils!
