Organic Nut Butter

Conventional Nut Butter

❌ Avoid conventional Nut Butters made with nuts grown using various chemicals such as pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides,  and plastic packaging.

The majority of nut butters are made from nuts that are ground using an augur, high-powered food processor, or industrial continuous throughput machines. These processes heat the nuts, which destroys enzymes and denatures proteins and fats. Metal-on-metal cutting machines with high throughput rapidly oxidize the almonds and thus open the possibility of going rancid more quickly. Moreover, short processing times don’t allow the almond oils to fully release, which inhibits their complete nuanced texture to emerge.

Glyphosate: is a widely used broad-spectrum systemic herbicide. It kills weeds and grasses by disrupting plant growth processes.

Propylene oxide: a super toxic fumigant used in non-organic almond to sterilize their crops. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) classifies propylene oxide as a carcinogen, and it has been linked to respiratory issues and skin irritation.

Greenwashing Nut Butters

Avoid greenwashing nut butters made by brands that pretend to be better, healthier, or organic when they are not. They will use their misleading and deceiving marketing tricks to convince you to buy their products.

They add unnecessary filler or cheap and controversial ingredients such as “natural flavors”, or cheap or inflammatory ingredients such as canola oil, seed oils, or refined sugar.

Natural flavors”.  They are manipulated in a lab, engineered to trick your body into eating more, by boosting “aromas or flavors”. “Natural” flavor legally can contain up to 20 different undisclosed ingredients/chemicals/stuff.

❌ Inflammatory oils: safflower oil, sunflower oil, cottonseed oils, rapeseed oil,  and canola oil.

Organic Nut Butters

Organic almond farming uses natural methods to control pests and diseases, such as planting beneficial plants and insects and using natural fertilizers. After shaking the tree, the almonds drop to the ground and are gathered, cleaned, sorted, and packaged.

Research shows that eating almonds helps with cholesterol, decrease blood pressure, ease inflammation, and aid in weight management. Almonds are a source of antioxidants to shield against oxidative damage and related conditions such as cardiovascular disease.

Almond Butter is full of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fiber. High in monounsaturated fats Almond butter helps to lower LDL (“bad”) cholesterol and raise HDL (“good”) cholesterol. • Stone grinding is a form of food processing used for over 30,000 years as a species. This ancient, time-tested technology to crush the almonds at a low temperature and slow speed into almond butter, which prevents excessive heating. Because of this process, the enzymes, proteins, and fats of the nuts remain intact, unlike in most nut butters. Making a batch takes 12-24 hours in our stone grinder, but the time can be tasted in the product’s deep, rich quality.
