B Corp Certified Brands

B Corp certification emphasizes a triple bottom line that includes people and the planet alongside profit. This aligns closely with our mission to make people- and planet-friendly products that work and use our business as a force for good. B Corp assessment provides an independent, third-party review of our social and environmental impact.

B Corp Certification Process

The B Corp certification process involves a comprehensive assessment of a company’s commitment to social and environmental responsibility. It considers a wide range of factors including employee benefits, charitable giving, and supply chain practices. In order to be certified, companies must pass an assessment and make commitments to legal accountability and public transparency.

B Impact Assessment

The B Impact Assessment is “a digital tool that can help measure, manage, and improve positive impact performance for environment, communities, customers, suppliers, employees, and shareholders.” It includes questions about a company’s governance, workers, community, environment, and customers.

A company must score at least 80 points on the assessment to qualify for B Corp certification.

Legal accountability

Certified B Corps are required to adopt a legal framework known as stakeholder governance. This means their decision-making process must consider the impact on all stakeholders, including workers, communities, customers, suppliers, and the environment. This is in contrast to the traditional shareholder governance model in which companies are primarily accountable to shareholders, which typically results in decision-making that prioritizes profits.

B Corp certification requires companies to make a legal commitment to adopt a shareholder governance model.

Public transparency

Finally, B Corps must allow information about their B Impact Assessments to be publicly shared. B Lab, the network that certified B Corporations, posts this information for each company in an online directory of B Corps
