Organic Electrolytes

Water is essential, especially considering the human body comprises about 75 percent water.

Proper hydration is much more than just drinking water. Throughout the day, we need to replace electrolytes and minerals lost through sweat, sleep, and regular daily life. The easiest way to replenish them is by consuming electrolytes. Electrolytes include:

  • Sodium
  • Calcium
  • Potassium
  • Chloride
  • Phosphate
  • Magnesium

Avoid Conventional Electrolytes

Avoid electrolytes made by conventional brands with too much sugar, artificial junk ingredients, and inconsistent or extreme electrolyte levels

Refined sugars: used by food manufacturers to increase flavor, but don’t have vitamins and minerals found in natural sources of sugar. High cane sugar, high‑fructose corn syrup, glucose syrup, and maltodextrin can spike blood sugar, promote inflammation, and add empty calories.

Artificial sweeteners: sucralose, saccharin, aspartame, acesulfame potassium, neotame and other synthetic sweeteners can disrupt metabolism and gut health over time.

Sugar alcohols: erythritol, glycerol, isomalt, lactitol, maltitol, mannitol, sorbitol, or xylitol.

Artificial flavors: Artificial flavors aren’t derived from natural sources like fruits, vegetables, or spices. Instead, they come from a variety of sources derived from synthetic chemicals: These are molecules created entirely in a lab to mimic the taste and aroma of natural flavors. Like vanillin, which is synthetically produced from wood pulp or even petroleum.

Avoid Greenwashing Electrolytes

Avoid Greenwashing Electrolytes made by brands claiming their products are natural, they are not. They will use their misleading marketing tricks to convince you to buy their products. They use controversial, cheaply sourced ingredients that are convenient for them while charging a “premium organic fee.”

Organic Electrolytes

Foods rich in electrolytes: Coconut, spinach, kale, avocado, almonds, maple sugar, Himalayan pink salt, cream of tartar. Smoothies are one of the best ways to ensure you get quality electrolytes. You could add spinach, kale, or avocados to a base of coconut water or almond milk. Then, of course, add your favorite fruit to make it tasty.

You can find here the best organic and clean electrolyte brands, electrolyte drink mixes made with only plant-based ingredients, non-GMO, and no artificial junk that tastes as good as it feels. You can add some of these Electrolyte Powders to your smoothies or other beverages.

I prefer to avoid cheap sweeteners, ideally we want unsweetened or uses natural sweeteners like stevia or monk fruit for flavor. (even though they are highly processed into powders or liquids)
