Conventional floss by creating microplastic is responsible for harming fish and other sea creatures.

❌ Some brands are aware that consumers are more sensitive to picking floss that doesn’t endanger animals and wildlife species so they come up with their deceiving version: greenwashing floss!
A greenwashing brand is when it pretends to be eco-friendly, sustainable, and natural when it is not!
Avoid greenwashing floss made by brands that use recycled polyester, sourced from plastic water bottles.
Even if it is made with recycled plastic the final product is still plastic. These brands if they wanted to be truly eco-friendly should come with real biodegradable material. I wish they can find a better alternative!

How to dispose of: They recommend disposing of your floss picks in a compost facility due allow for the quickest decomposition of your floss pick. Or you can compost them in your home via your compost bin. However, decomposition will take much longer! Based on testing, it'll take about 2-3 years. Last but not least, you can recycle or throw them out in the garbage. No worries, they'll still break down!

It is made of nylon strands twisted together and coated with a light layer of wax. Nylon is a petroleum-derived ingredient invented by Dupont, the same manufacturer of Teflon!

I don't recommend Cocofloss even if it is made with recycled plastic the final product is still plastic. I tried to consider this brand but if they still want to be truly eco-friendly they should come with real biodegradable material. Otherwise, it is a danger for wildlife.
Cocofloss is spun from 85% recycled polyester, sourced from plastic water bottles. I wish they can find a better alternative!
