Many of you asked me for a play mat recommendation: there are many play mats out there but just a few meet my criteria.

The majority contain cheap and toxic foams:

❌ MEMORY FOAM – POLYURETHANE FOAM: this toxic and polluting foam continues to emit toxic gasses when you bring it home.  The most common beds are made of memory foam (or viscoelastic foam), flexible polyurethane foam, coils, or combinations of these materials.  Both memory foam and flexible polyurethane foam are polyurethane foams. These cheap, unhealthy foams are petroleum products, meaning they are derived from fossil fuels.

❌  SOYBEANS FOAM: These foams are full of pesticides, so avoid that too.

Safer play mat alternatives:

Organic Cotton: produced without pesticide, GMO, or other chemicals found typically in conventional cotton.

Organic Latex: 100% organic, natural, non-toxic, untreated with flame retardants, anti-bacterial, self-ventilating, biodegradable, and non-allergenic.
