Today Glitter
✅ Bio-glitter®: also known as Eco glitter was invented and created in the UK and it is made of Eucalyptus cellulose.
Award-winning, and rigorously tested to high standards. 💎 An ethical, eco-friendly, cruelty-free, and non-toxic, way to sparkle.
What is it? Bio-glitter® is the only alternative to plastic glitter. Independently tested and proven to degrade naturally in waterways like sewers, lakes, and landfills so that it never pollutes the oceans.
What is made of? It is made of modified regenerated eucalyptus cellulose and actually becomes food for the same hungry organisms that break down waste products.
How long does it take to biodegrade? Biodegrades 90% in nature in just 30 days.
How does it degrade? When the glitter finds its way to a sewer, lake, or river it will biodegrade in a matter of weeks. This process is faster when the environment is warmer, wetter, and has more hungry microbes present. Plastic glitter takes thousands of years!
Does it hurt the fish? If a speck of glitter is eaten by marine life, it’s really no biggie because it’s made of plants, not harmful plastics. The Certified Biodegradable glitter Bio-glitter® is also suitable for anaerobic digestion. That means that if a fish or other marine animal accidentally consumes it, the glitter will break down in the process of digestion, instead of remaining in the animal and accumulating as it is consumed up the food chain.
Which are the bio-certifications? Bio-glitter® is the only glitter on the market that carries biodegradability in cosmetic glitter certification. bio certified and they passed the freshwater test.
What is the freshwater test? Freshwater test: certified that it is biodegradable in soil, wastewater, freshwater, and other similar conditions that are representative of the natural environment in which there is a significantly higher probability that glitter will be found after use. They passed the test in Oceans and Seas, Lakes and rivers, Soil and shower/bath water, Garden compost heap, and Collected compost bin, and most of their biodegradable content was biodegraded in less than 4 weeks!!
Bio-glitter® versus plastic glitter: Bio-glitter® is plant-based and made with a modified regenerated cellulose base instead of synthetic (plastic) glitter. Plant-based glitter is also 40% softer than regular plastic glitter.

Plastic glitter, defined as a microplastic, takes hundreds of years to degrade in natural environments.
Scientists call for a ban on glitter globally! I have been researching the topic for years: Not all the glitters are the same!
❌ Conventional glitter is made of plastic and aluminum! Please avoid any products containing glitter and don’t use any makeup containing glitter!
❌ Greenwashing glitter: there are brands claiming to be compostable! They are misleading you! Compostable glitter does not biodegrade in nature. Their fake glitter contributor to global pollution: •PLA or polylactic acid or polylactide •Acetate or cellulose acetate •Cellulose •Microcrystalline cellulose
These are Greenwashing glitters that don’t biodegrade in the natural environment!
There is only 1 glitter type that is biodegradable and everything else is either plastic-micro-pollution or greenwashing- lying to you!

Lomi Home Composter
🎉Today is National Learn About Composting Day! And here is my favorite way to compost:
💚Lomi is my favorite and number one composter recommendation
🌿it allows me to transform kitchen scraps into organic food for plants and gardens.
It prevents sending this useful waste to collect in the landfills while generating methane. Instead, it will allow us to create our own organic fertilizer🌱
👉Not only we can reuse these scraps and leftovers, but I also use Lomi to compost my favorite plant-based products such as Repurpose and Eco Gloves, also to compost the bioglitter!
✅This is the best eco-friendly, sustainable, responsible, and affordable way to reuse and regenerate our waste. It so so satisfactory and fun to be able to compost at home!
🌿It is rewarding knowing that we are creating organic food for our plants and garden while keeping our house cleaner, fresher, trash bin, and landfill lighter.
💚Lomi is an environmental hero!
