Night Sweats

If you are dealing with night sweats or hot flashes you are probably experiencing perimenopause. They could happen during these stages, but they can strike women of all ages.  Even If you’re in your 20s or early 30s.

In the last years, I have been dealing with them, they would wake me up in the middle of the night around 3-5 am completely wet. I guess I didn’t need to go to the steam room or sauna to detox. 😁

Anyway, I would need to change my pajama, add a dry layer on top of the wet sheet such as a clean dry towel or change the bed in the middle of the night and drink water.

I mentioned to my naturopath and OBGYN. they suggested hormonal aid.

I tried to avoid that and go as natural as I could by recording and monitoring the triggers.

Here is what I found out to help, according to Harvard studies

Foods for Hot Flashes and Night Sweats

According to the experts from Floliving:

Some specific foods can help you address the symptoms of low estrogen and hot flashes, including:

  1. Organic soy products, like organic tofu or organic edamame. Soy is a phytoestrogen or a natural plant-based estrogen, that can boost your overall levels and ease symptoms.

  2. Organic Flax seeds. Flax is a phytoestrogen, too. It is also powerfully anti-inflammatory, a good source of fiber, and great food for boosting the health of the estrobolome (which is a microbial community in the gut that helps keep hormones balanced).

  3. Low-glycemic foods that keep blood sugar balanced. Think of foods high in healthy fats (like organic avocados, organic nuts, and organic seeds) and low in simple sugars (which includes most whole foods!). Research suggests that balanced blood sugar maybe help keep hot flashes at bay.

Supplements for Hot Flashes

Organic Maca: This plant, which grows high in the Andes mountains, has been used for centuries for energy and health. Studies suggest that the plant acts as a “toner of hormonal processes” and may be especially helpful for easing perimenopause symptoms.
