This process releases harmful chemicals into the air, contributing to air pollution and negatively affecting human health. The production of adhesive tape consumes significant amounts of energy, contributing to greenhouse gas emissions and the depletion of natural resources

❌ Tape Plastic Content

Adhesive tapes often contain plastic, which is not biodegradable and contributes to the global plastic pollution crisis. The extraction and processing of these resources lead to deforestation, habitat destruction, and climate change.

❌ Chemicals in Adhesive Tapes

 Some adhesive tapes contain volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and phthalates, which have been linked to health issues like respiratory irritation and allergic reactions. Phthalates are also associated with adverse health effects, particularly in children and pregnant women

❌ PFAS “Forever Chemicals”:

Some tapes may contain PFAS, which are persistent, ubiquitous, and toxic substances 

Avoid Greenwashing Tape

Avoid greenwashing shipping and packaging material made by brands that pretend to be sustainable or safer when they are not. They will use their marketing tricks to convince you to buy their products.

❌ Fake eco tape: They use recycled materials, but they still contain chemicals and remain toxic to the user, workers in the manufacturing process, and the environment.

✅ Biodegradable Tapes

• Materials: Made from plant-based materials like cellulose or paper.

• Features: Biodegradable, compostable, and non-toxic. Examples include the minliving Biodegradable Tape and WOD Biodegradable Packaging Tape

✅ Paper-Based Tapes

• Materials: Kraft paper with natural adhesives.

• Features: Recyclable, compostable, and suitable for paper packaging. Examples include Package Free Kraft Tape and Biodegradable Paper Tape

• Materials: Paper backing with starch-based adhesive.

• Features: Fully recyclable, tamper-evident, and ideal for secure shipping
